My Approach

I believe that every person who comes to coaching already holds the answers they are looking for. My role is not to tell you what to do or hand you a solution. It is to create the right conditions — safe, honest, and deeply human — for you to find your own way forward.

My approach draws on my training in coaching and counselling, my lived experience of rebuilding my own life, and a deep belief that lasting change happens when we work with the whole person — mind, body, and spirit together.

How I show up in every session

These are the principles that underpin everything I do — regardless of what we are working on or where you are in your journey.

  • Unconditional Positive Regard: Every client is met with complete acceptance, free from judgement. You are safe here exactly as you are.

  • Congruence: I show up as my whole, authentic self in every session — honest, present, and genuine. You will always get the real me.

  • Collaborative goal setting: We only ever work on what you want to change. Your agenda, your pace, your goals — always.

  • Observation before solution: Change begins with noticing, not fixing. I invite clients to observe their patterns with curiosity before reaching for answers. What you bring back from that observation becomes some of the most valuable material we work with.

  • Small experiments: Sometimes, the only way to understand what is stopping you is to attempt the very thing you have been avoiding gently. We design these experiments together, collaboratively and safely — never prescribed, always chosen by you.

The Lumina method

My coaching is structured around the Lumina Method — a four-phase whole-person framework that guides clients from feeling stuck, anxious, and lost, toward clarity, purpose, and a life that feels genuinely their own.

Lumina comes from the Latin for light. The four phases mirror the journey from darkness to clarity — a journey I know intimately from my own life.

1) Acknowledge - finding the edges of the dark

Before anything can change, we have to honestly see where we are. In this phase we create a safe, non-judgmental space to name what is really going on — the anxiety, the stuckness, the patterns, the pain. No fixing yet. Just honest, compassionate awareness.

2) Understand - tracing the roots

Using the insights gathered through observation, we go deeper — exploring the beliefs, stories, and experiences that have kept you stuck. We examine the inner narrative: what you tell yourself about who you are, what you deserve, and what is possible. This is where real understanding begins to emerge.

3) Shift - turning toward the light

Armed with awareness and understanding, we begin to actively challenge old patterns and build new ways of thinking, feeling, and being. We co-create goals entirely around what you want to change — and design small, safe experiments to gently test the edges of what has been avoided.

4) Illuminate  - living in your light

The final phase is about anchoring the change and making it sustainable. We build the habits, practices, and self-knowledge that allow you to keep moving forward — with clarity, confidence, and purpose — long after our work together ends. You leave not just with goals achieved, but with a deeper understanding of yourself and the tools to keep growing independently.

The Holistic Dimension

I have a deep personal belief that mind, body, and spirit are not separate — they are in constant conversation with each other, and the state of one profoundly shapes the state of the others. This belief was born not from theory, but from my own experience of discovering that my anxiety had been living in my body long before I recognised it in my mind.

For clients who are open to it, I can bring elements of Ayurvedic wisdom, breathwork, mindfulness, and yoga-based practices into our work together. These are never prescribed — they are offered as optional tools for those who feel drawn to a more holistic approach.

For clients who prefer to focus purely on coaching — that is equally valid and equally powerful. The Lumina Method works beautifully on its own.

If this approach resonates with you, I would love to explore what it might look like for you specifically.
